Free at last!

Thursday.  It’s Rob’s emancipation day!  He started texting me at 7:18 AM — guess he felt it was time to move on and get going with his NY adventure.  Jim and I got over to the hospital around 10:30, and we left around 11:00, walking the few blocks over to Dr Rosen’s office.  First Rob was sent to the lab to receive an injection of neulasta (to boost his white blood cell count), then we all met with Dr Rosen and Adrienne.  They explained the effects of these treatments, told Rob what to expect, helping to alleviate any insecurities we might have.  After leaving, we tried to get a taxi, to no avail.  So we just kept walking towards the hotel.  When we passed a great-looking restaurant, we decided to stop there for a celebratory lunch.  It was great — cheese fondue for the appetizer, yum!  Praise God for the wonderful blessing of this time together.
